So screams the news headlines and crows David Cameron and the Labour party after conservative

Edward Timpson win in Crew and Nantwich by-election following the landslide to Boris Johnson in London for the election of the Mayor

Well yes they won and there was an un-precedented trurn out of 55% of the eligible vote .

How do you get a majority vote when only 55% vote ?

If we take a population of 100 people and look at the reality if our democratic process given that the division of the vote in Crew and Nantwich was

Conservative Edward Timpson 49.5 %

Labour 30.6%

Liberal 14.6%

yes they won but if you take the fact that the turn out ie the number of voters that turned out to vote was only 55% of those eligible and that is the ones who bother to put them selves on the electoral register.

This in its self is a bone of contention as I am a wear that among the people I know at least 1 in 3 of them refuse to put themselves on the register I know that 10 of my adult acquaintances are quite proud of the fact that they dont as their considered opinion is that they dont want to encourage the politicians to think that they have their support and that the government is not governing in my name . Many of these people are holders of degrees and are what is classed as intelligent people.

The over all effect of all this is that we have a minority governing us not a democratic majority. Of course the statues quo of the ruling class chose to ignore this fact and continue with pretence that they have a majority mandate.

I would like to see the population of the united kingdome galvanised into actually giving a dam about who gets into parliament and actually taking a more active roll in the politics of the country.

However in the real world the only way that seems to happen is when the population is starving or under threat. So may be I will have to wait till the economy has fallen through the floor and there are more people living on the streets and starving then we may get the government we really want.

The police are asking for the right to strike as the government has reneged on the pay deal formular that was put in place in return for the removal of the right to strike so if they do strike who is going to arrest them? Or will they just arrest and lock themselves up may it will be the eco warriors and the miners they beat up when they closed all the colliers under Mrs Thatcher that have a chance to get their own back by carrying out citizens arrests ?

With regards to the new Mayor of this fine city well Boris is younger and has a personality for the fashion industry and the glitter-arty of the London Night Life. Made up of the ex-public school Boys and Girls the Sloane Ranger set. They try and tell us theres no class divide indeed Well thats wa Load of rubbish its just that the poor are being squeezed out to the flood plains around London and will be drowned in the same way as Bush and Clinton made sure would happen in New Orleans. Over the years thats why they are making the working class in the uk pay for the Olympics and the flood prevention schemes that are being built in to it. I am a poor working class man who is lucky enough to own a small house behind the flood defences but its doubtful if I will be able to afford to live here by the time the Olympics comes to town.
