This is a work of Rumi about his love for his beloved boyfriend Shamsi Tabriz in whos eyes he saw the truth of the one true god.
What is to be done of Moslem ?
For I do not recognise my self.
I am neither Christian, Nor Jew. Nor Gabra,Nor Moslem.
I am not of the east, nor of the west. Not of the land nor of the sea.
I am not of natures mint, not of the circling heavens
I am not of the earth, not of water, not of air,not of fire.
I am not of the empyrean, not of the dust, not of the air, not of the fire.
I am not of India , not of China, not Bulgaria, not of Saqsin.
I am not of the kingdom of Iraqian. Not of the Country of Khosansan.
I am not of this world, Not of the next, not of paradise, not of hell.
I am not of Adam, not of Eve. Not of Eden or Rizwan.
My place is the placeless my trace is the traceless.
Tis neither body nor is it soul, For I belong to the soul of the Beloved.
I have put duality away . I have seen that the two worlds are one.
One I seek, one I know, one I see, one I call.
He is the first, He is the last, He is the onward , He is the inward .
I know no other except `Ya Hu` and `Ya man Hu`
I am intoxicated with loves cup , The two worlds have passed beyond my knowing.
I have no Business but carousing and revery.
If once in my life I spend a moment without thee,
From that time and from that hour I repent of my life.
If once in this world I win a moment with thee,
I will trample on both worlds ,
I will dance in triumph for ever
Oh Shamsi Tabriz, I am so drunk in this world ,
That except of drunkenness and revery I have no tale to tell.

This mystic branch of Islam is for me the true spiritual path of the search and worship of the one true god it a chords with the resonance of all world religions and sings to the heart of the gnostic mystery with in them all. The truth is there if only each of us can see it it is the heart of the mysteries that governs us all. I feel very un worried by the testing of a nuclear weapon in Korea as there is nothing that I can do stop them any more than I can stop any government. I turn my sights to the quantum essences that has with in it the heart of the creation spirit as should we all to see the truth of our existence It is this state of being and none being mover and unmoved that I know Rumi was trying to express in his work and that he experienced through the beloved wild man of Shamsi Tabriz. As did Gilgamesh in the wild man lover of his Enkidu in the fabulous epic that underlies all of religious principals that emanate from the Middle east. |
