letter to a fellow european community goverment

As the government of Poland it is your duty and responsibility now you are part of the European community to assure the rights of your Gay and Lesbian population and give them the support and encouragement they need to combat the prejudice that is rife in your country due to the oppression of the Catholic faith as Gay Catholic my self here in Britain I am aware of how the Catholic Church oppresses gays and Lesbians. Here we are fortunate to have a government and a population that recognises the division between church and state and find it easier to follow our commitments to the rights of all individuals with in our society so we don’t have a conflict that I understand has caused problems with in your own culture due to the catholic church being the prime movement against the oppression of the Soviet block during the cold war but now it is time for your government to embrace the sexual and ethnic equality principals of the European union properly and offer open support to the gay community within your country and encourage them to be part of the community and give legal status to their unions in civil partnerships as we have here in Britain  and the legal protection of recognition of same sex partnerships.
